“Lives of service depend on lives of support.”
-Tracy Kidder, Mountains Beyond Mountains
Our donation form is currently available in two formats:
Camino Verde relies on the generosity of friends like you to carry out what we consider to be such important work. With growing concern about greenhouse gases and lessening our contribution to environmental degradation, we believe that planting trees and caring for forests is one of the simplest and most powerful ways we can come back into healthy balance with the Earth. Without your support we would not be able to continue this exciting, rewarding work.
We hope you will take a look at our projects and our mission and consider if making a donation to Camino Verde is right for you. Please note that Camino Verde is currently awaiting approval as a 501(c)3 charitable organization in the United States. Law allows that donations made after having submitted applications for 501(c)3 status—now—are already fully tax-deductible.

Become a Member
With 25 dollars a month you can become a Member of Camino Verde. Membership allows you to receive our biannual report, sent out exclusively by e-mail (to save paper, of course). The report includes photos and updated information on our projects. You will also receive access to our extensive and ever-growing online database of plants of the Amazon [link to Our Plant Database] including all that we are planting and more, with exhaustive information on each species. (*Or, a one time donation of 100 dollars will also give you access to this online biodiversity bank.) Most importantly, as a member you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution helps directly to plant and maintain 12 trees each year. Forest Planters Membership, our Johnny Appleseed title, is offered to those who give 50 dollars a month. Children can become members for a symbolic gift (thanks parents!) of just 25 dollars a year. To make a donation, follow the link to our donation form or simply send your check to the address below.

A Note on Transparency
It is Camino Verde’s intention to uphold the highest standards of integrity in the use of the resources we receive through the help of others, by donation and by grants. It is our aim to be as clear and transparent as possible about how your money is used. We are happy to provide full financial and budget information to those who request it so you can see exactly what our costs are.
Because we are a young organization, our budget can vary greatly from month to month. We typically rely on donation rallies in support of particular projects, such as our push to plant 500 soil-imporiving trees in the rainy season of 2007-8 at our reforestation center in La Joya, Madre de Dios, Peru. Our budgets are based in large part on these funding “blocks” corresponding to individual projects. In 2007, Camino Verde’s work was financially supported entirely by the generosity and commitment of our board of directors.
